Dear Calvary Visalia Family,
What we as a nation are facing is a critical situation, unprecedented in our lifetime…these are uncharted waters. Still, we can rest assured that this has not taken our God by surprise. He is still in control and still on His throne!
We believe it is of utmost importance for the body of Christ to meet and worship corporately. We take the command of scripture to do so very seriously. Therefore, we don’t take cancelling our services lightly. However, in light of the unprecedented pandemic we are facing, and the President’s and the governing authorities’ requests to drastically limit the size of public meetings, we believe that the wise and prudent course of action is to cancel all church services. This includes Calvary Kids, Lighthouse Youth Ministry, Men’s Ministry Studies, Revive Women’s Bible Study, Trendsetters, Most Excellent Way, School of Ministry, and all events for the next 15 days. We believe this to be our duty as Christians, good citizens, and good neighbors. None of us would want to be a carrier of a virus that might not significantly affect our health, but would have a more devastating effect on others.
At this time, we will proceed with the following course of action, not out of fear, but rather out of an abundance of love and concern, and a desire to protect the flock at Calvary Visalia, especially the most vulnerable among us.
Effective immediately, and for the next 15 days, Myself, Pastor Michael, some of our leaders, and members of the Worship Team will be at the church on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights to record our services. We will reevaluate and keep you all up to date on our plans from there.
We hope you will join us online for a time of worship and the preaching of God’s Word which will be live-streamed over our website, Facebook page, YouTube, and Vimeo at our regular service time of:
10:45am on Sunday mornings
6:30pm on Wednesday nights
We will also be flooding our social media and website with encouragement and hope from God’s Word and would ask that you all share those things on your own pages!
Please pray that God would protect our church body and our community from this virus, and that through this He would give us opportunities to share the Gospel and the love and comfort of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We are looking forward to the day when we are all able to gather once again to worship our Lord and Savior together, prayerfully that will be soon. Until then, may the God of all comfort and grace strengthen and sustain you, guide and protect you. God bless you all. We will see you online Sunday at 10:45am!
In the Love and Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,
