Habakkuk‬ ‭3:18-19‬

Yet I will rejoice in the Lord! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation! The Sovereign Lord is my strength! He makes me as surefooted as a deer, able to tread upon the heights.
‭‭Habakkuk‬ ‭3:18-19‬ ‬
Each Friday our women’s board here at Calvary Visalia pray together and share Scripture. It’s become a time that I look forward to each week. Last week, in one of Gayle Grenier’s prayers she talked about how she believed that God was taking us to higher ground and she prayed that we would trust Him and not be afraid. That picture and those words have been in my heart every since.
I don’t know about you, but there are lots of mountains in my life right now that I feel like I’m staring up at. Sometimes those mountains can frustrate me…they’re TOO HIGH. Sometimes they can make me freeze with indecision on how to even start climbing them…they’re TOO STEEP. But I, like Gayle, am confident in the fact that God is not leading me through steep, scary paths without reason. He’s leading me to higher ground because it’s safer there. We have the advantage of being able to see all that is happening below and being protected from our enemies and having knowledge of coming storms and elements. He’s leading me to higher ground because the views from the top are incomparable and we know that we have a God who takes delight in His creation and wants us to do that as well. So I’m praying that, though the path to get to the top may seem frightening and never-ending, that God keeps reminding me that this journey is worth it. The views from the top are worth the blood, sweat, and tears endured in the climb.
Whatever your “mountain” is right now, please know that you have a God who is bigger. Let God be glorified in your situation. Even if the path that He’s leading you on is steep and full of obstacles, keep following. Keep trusting. Your mountaintop views are coming…
