Luke 1:45

“Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a fulfillment of those things which were told her from the Lord.” Luke 1:45
These words were spoken to Mary, the mother of Jesus. Mary, a teenager, the one that God entrusted with His greatest gift…His son Jesus. It was an unbelievable story. This woman who had never been with a man and yet was carrying the baby who would save the world from their sins. But maybe even more unbelievable was the fact that Mary believed the things that the Lord told her. I’m sure there were questions and confusion, but she chose to believe. And for that she was blessed.
It’s one thing to read God’s promises to us, but it’s a whole other thing to actually believe them. Believing, many times, means ignoring what our eyes are seeing, it means to not cling to the status quo, but to trust. Of course, we’re being asked to trust in the One who will never let us down, it should be easy, right? But is it? We might say we believe, but do we REALLY believe?
Friends, I know many of us are going through hard times. We see just what is front of us right now and we struggle to believe that God has His best for us. Here’s what we need to do…BELIEVE ANYWAY! Make the choice. Throw out what your eyes see and what seems to make sense. Choose not to dwell on how you’re feeling. Choose to trust in God’s promises. He will never leave you. He will never forsake you. He will work everything for your good. He wants to give you a future and a hope. And when you truly believe, then you’ll be blessed!
