Psalm 103:13-17

The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him. For he knows how weak we are; he remembers we are only dust. Our days on earth are like grass; like wildflowers, we bloom and die. The wind blows, and we are gone—as though we had never been here. But the love of the Lord remains forever with those who fear him.
Psalm 103:13-17
She dances. Wherever she goes, she dances. Down the aisles of the store; In the parking lot as we’re walking to the car; Everywhere. She is flexible and graceful and constantly in motion. There’s no care as to if she has an audience. I’m not even sure if she knows that she’s dancing. It’s natural, such an innate part of her. And watching her move with grace and poise is a constant reminder to me of the fact that this little girl really isn’t so little anymore, she is quickly growing up into a beautiful young woman.
She’s still her Daddy’s little girl though, she always will be. And there’s nothing better than watching him as he’s watching her. The love, the pride, the emotions are enough to melt your heart. And as his little girl, who is now just over a year away from becoming a teenager, grows, we are seeing a glimpse of the beauty and the grace that is to come. He would do anything for her. Anything. She has his heart and she always will. And he is her favorite person. She still wants him to tuck her in every single night, still wants to hold his hand as they’re walking, still wants to cuddle into his embrace whenever she has the chance. Their relationship is one of my favorite things about my sweet little family.
How much more does God look at us in this way? Amazement over the daughters that He created; A love so intense that He was willing to sacrifice His own Son so that we might live. He did everything for us. EVERYTHING. He holds our world in His hands.
How do we respond back to this type of love? Do we worship Him? Or do we push Him aside in the midst of all our busyness? Do we spend time in His Word, time talking to Him? Or do we quickly say thanks when we eat and only open our Bibles on Sundays? Are we in love with Him? Is He our first priority, is He truly Lord of our lives? Do we run to Him, just like my sweet little girl runs to her Daddy, with arms spread wide, ready to embrace our Father?
Girls, time is fleeting. It passes us by so fast. Redeem the time. Reprioritize. Do WHATEVER it takes to draw closer to the God who loves you.
