Psalm 112:7-8

“They do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the Lord to take care of them. They are confident and fearless and can face their foes triumphantly.”
Psalm 112:7-8
This has been a week full of sadness and difficult situations for so many people. Unexpected deaths, tragic situations, hard trials. It’s easy to get distracted by our grief and worry and take our eyes off of Jesus. DON’T DO IT!! The thing about relying on Jesus, is that you can’t just say that you trust Him, you have to truly trust. It requires a lot of faith and action. And if we’re truly trusting, then that bad news that unexpectedly comes, those hard trials that we find ourselves in the middle of…while they’re not fun, we have no reason to fear them, because it’s not up to us to fix them. We’re not responsible for making everything okay or figuring out how to walk through a time of mourning or struggle. That’s all on God. He WANTS to take care of us. He WANTS to take our burdens, our tragedies, our sadness. So stop holding on. Stop worrying. Stop dwelling on situations that YOU CAN’T CONTROL. Also, trust God with the outcome! Don’t be so set on things happening a certain way, that you take away God’s sovereignty and His perfect will for the situation. Things don’t always turn out the way we want them to. But we’re not God, we aren’t all knowing. His will is perfect, and a part of trusting God is accepting that His plans are for our best. Don’t fear bad news, but be confident in the fact that God’s got you! And with that you can face your foes, your circumstances, your hardships triumphantly because God’s Word tells us that you can.
