Psalm 27:14

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalm 27:14
We live in such an instantaneous society. Everything is at our fingertips. Want a Starbucks coffee? Avoid the line and order on your phone. Checking out at Target? Go to the self check out and avoid waiting for the lady in front of you with the overloaded cart to finish paying. Are you watching tv and trying to figure out who that familiar looking actor is? Google it or quicker still, ask Siri! Who goes to a bank anymore? Deposit checks with your phone and pay bills online!
We are no longer being taught how to wait, because patience is not something that is needed in our day to day activities due to our technology. So when we go through a trial or a difficult time, how are we going to wait on the Lord? We who have had our share of trials learn very quickly that sometimes the best growth in our journey through difficulty happens in those moments where we are still and simply waiting on the Lord. Those times are when we are stretched. Those times are when God speaks to us. Waiting takes courage. Courage to stand firm instead of running. Courage to listen instead of speaking every word that comes to mind. Courage to watch carefully and follow Jesus instead of blindly following whatever is in front of you. Courage to face the people that you come in contact with rather than avoid them at all costs.
So yes, please keep ordering your Starbucks through the app and banking online, but use the time saved to be still and wait on the Lord and listen to what He has to say to you!
